Fabricate Lost Parts & Repair
This type of serious breakage comes into our shop regularly. Unless repaired the right way it won't hold the tremendous stress from the bed rail. Of course the finish has to blend in seamlessly as the final step.
We look upon this kind of work as "wood surgery." Filling the void with putty would never last so we cut out a rectilinear void down to good wood to start. Next we fabricate a replacement piece from the proper wood species, add the appropriate features and details and then glue in place. We guarantee this repair to be as strong as new and have never had a call back on one.
