The molding shape on this 1870's walnut chest is not available "off the shelf" nor can we buy a ready made router

bit to make more. Many times we'll replace it with wood shaped to fit but in this case made an economical casted resin

replacement to fit the owner's budget.

To get an exact replacement resin piece we first made a mold from a good section. With that in hand we then cast a replacement and, once cured, shaped the piece to fit, glued in place and finished.
